The Things Kids Say!

It seems like my kids are always making me laugh with the things they come up with. I need to be soooo much better are writing them down. Here are a few and some others stuff my kids are up to...
Fisher:

When he sleeps in his bed and stays there all night he will say, "I sleeped in my WHOLE bed!"

He is definately my little buddy and is a huge helper. So he calls himself, "My Vacuum Boy"...except is more like "bacuum"...When he is mad at me he will yell at me..."I am NOT your bacuum boy anymore!"

Heston:

He and Gillyin were walking out the front door for the bus and he saw that there was frost on the roof tops and said, "Look at all the frosting" of course Gillyin had to correct him and say, "It's called FROST!"

A few days ago he was downstairs fighting with Gilly and I could hear her repeating what he was saying. When Heston does that to me I will tell him not to back sass me. I am not even sure if that is a real term, but it is something my mom used on me. Anyway, finally Heston yelled at her and said, "Don't back @$$ me"...so of course I had to make sure that he knew it was SASS!

Gillyin:

So she is like 7 going on 17 and I don't know how I will survive her! She never really says funny things, but defiantly says things that make me shake my head. She doesn't think it's fare that I get my nails done and can go get massages. She wants her hair to be Burgundy and insists she needs a cell phone. What do I do? Her life is always horrible because she can't stand her brothers and has to help soooo much! I know she is completely picked on! That's why we love her so much:)

Griffyn:

Griffyn isn't really talking. She says your basic baby words like mama, dada, baba, uh oh, and occasionally mum. I love when she gives kisses and puts her hands over her eyes to play peek-a-boo. She still is toothless. I don't know if she will ever get teeth, but she is doing just fine without them.

Happy Birthday, Griffyn!

Today Griifyn turns 1! Her first year has flown by. She is such a sweet little girl and has been such a blessing to our family! She is such a content child and so good at entertaining herself and just going with the flow of everyone else's craziness. I remember being the baby in my family always being told how spoiled I was. I never thought that...now watching Griffyn and seeing how much she has to put up with and how laid back she has to be because she is the baby, she will earn every bit of how much she will be spoiled. SO baby girl, HaPpY BitHdAy! We love you so much!

Keep Conan!!!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eD1nwe5Esx0

I have never been a faithful late night talk show viewer. I wasn't a huge fan of Jay Leno. I was not sad to see him "retire". When Conan Obrien took his place I wasn't sure what to expect. I have always found the man's hair a bit distracting...so hard to watch that wave flop around on top of his head. BUT and that is a HUGE BUT... I have grown to really, really, really, like this man! He has this WEIRD sense of humor that can totally crack me up! As I have watched him on the Tonight Show this week...which has been HyStErIcAl...I think NBC would be making a huge mistake if they moved him. I think that they should have NEVER EVER put Jay on at 9 (STUPID). That was like these athletes that retire and then decide to come out of retirement. I can't stand that. Be done while you are at the top of your game, right? I hope NBC can see that they need Conan right where he is!

Well...another year has come and gone. It amazes me how fast time goes by. We can't complain because 2009 treated us well! Can't wait to see what 2010 brings. The last decade went by in a hurry and in another 10 years I will have teenagers.(Strange to think about.)Our holidays were wonderful...we got to see so much of our family and spend time with those we love so much! I hope that everyone was as blessed as we were! May 2010 bring you happiness and many blessings!

Privavcy Please!

Ok...I am not sure if we are the only family on the planet like this, but I am hoping not! There is NO such thing as PRIVACY in our home. Our bathroom doors are rarely closed and if they are it's not for long. Any door for that matter. It's like my kids have a phobia of closed doors. I think I have bathed 2 times EVER without at least one child's company. Either crying, whining, telling a story or wondering where something is. When I have it's because I have locked and barricaded the doors. There are many mornings now that I have a little boy playing trucks on the bathroom floor while I bath. So this morning while I am showering Griffyn is constantly opening the shower curtain. UHHHH! So when I take 30 seconds to the bathroom I don't even bother shutting the door, because I know if I do it will be flung open. This has become a problem when we have little friends over.I go to go and remember then hurry and shut the door and hope it doesn't open magically. Yesterday morning I was getting dressed and Rob shut our bedroom door...you would have thought we set the house on fire! I think that we have created something irreversible. My family has always been pretty open with stuff like that and I think I turned out ok. Even when we go to Rob's parents he doesn't close the bathroom door...ha! Really...I think that could at least be the few times a day that I can get a few seconds to myself, but NOPE! I guess maybe I am always going 100 mph and so I just don't even bother to change things. Fisher says to me the other day as I am hurrying to get dressed... "I hate your boobs"...really? So I say back..."I hate them too!" WHAT TO DO?

You had a BiRtHdAy...

Heston turned 6! I think I say this every birthday about all my kids, but I seriously can't believe he is 6. I am so thankful that he was born Dec. 19th! People always say how awful it must be to have his birthday so close to Christmas, but I love it! (I am not sure how he feels about that or how he will feel about that in the future) I love that he was born when he was...it made that Christmas so special! Holding a brand new tiny one is so special, but getting to at Christmas made me think about how Mary must have felt holding the Savior. Heston's birthday is a special one!
On Friday he got to have his "best pal" Kestyn over to eat at McDonald's and stay the night. Heston missed Kestyn's birthday party while we were in Colorado so they got to open gifts to each other together. Saturday we went bowling and had cake and ice cream! I hope you had a fun couple of days, Buddie! We love you!

SO BIG!

I can't believe how fast she is growing up. Over the past week Griffyn has started walking, clapping, and saying "uh oh". It's so much fun to watch these things happen, but at the same time it's a little touch of reality...that she isn't going to be my little baby for too much longer:( She puts up with so much from Fisher and likes to be right in the middle of EVERYTHING! I can't imagine our family without our Shorty McShort Short!
