"Like A Woman"

So usually when we all post it's about our kids or family. Today I am posting for us women! Well...a few months ago when I was painting the baby's room I turned the T.V. to an XM country station. A Jamie O'Niel song came on that I hadn't heard before. I love music and I love lyrics. I am one to know every word of a song by the 3rd time I hear it. I just think that there is so much meaning in music. Anyway, after hearing it I kept thinking...I need to find the lyrics and song online. Well, today I remembered! So I found the music video on the CMT website! If I did this right...this link should take you there. I thought it was such a great song because I think as wives and mothers we forget sometimes that we are still women. I know we all do so much for our families that it would be nice to be recognized as a WOMAN and not the house wife, mom, cook, laundry lady, etc! I feel like most of the time we aren't going to pull ourselves away from the "every day"...we need help...so...Husbands watch and listen to this video too!

P.S. Some may find it "a little risky". You know who you are, but you know me!

Little Sister

It has been so much fun having Griffyn in our home. It hasn't been that long since we have had a new born, but you really do forget what it's like. The kids have been fun to watch as they are getting used to another sibling. Gillyin has been so excited to be getting a sister, but I think that she thought it would a little funner than it is right now. She loves to hold Grifffyn and kisses her every chance she gets. Heston and Fisher are very concerned ALL the time. They always want to know where she is and the moment she cries they are right there to see why. Heston loves to watch her and is fascinated by everything about her. Fisher loves when she opens her eyes. That doesn't happen very often yet. Rob and I are trying to take it all in and enjoy every second of her. They truly don't stay tiny for long and this will be the last time we have a tiny one. It is SO easy to just hold her ALL the time. I am pretty sure she is getting spoiled.

She is FINALLY here!!!

6lbs. 11oz...19 1/2 inches
Here is the story...

I wasn't due until Jan.25th, but the plan was to induce a week early so that my Dr. could be close by. He was in the E.R. on Sunday. There would no way he wouldn't make it. (My last delivery went really fast and he almost didn't make it.)

We went in Sunday (1-18-09) morning at 7 to be induced. We got to the hospital and checked in and by 8 I had my I.V. with pitocin and antibiotics. The plan was to get my epidural by 11, break my water by 12 and have a baby by 2! I have never had a planned out delivery like this, so I kept thinking...yeah right, it will never go as planned. Things just never go like that...do they? So, at about 10:45 I start to get my epidural...even earlier than expected. By 11:30 I had the epidural in and was so excited, becuase it was actually working! (my last 2 didn't work) Then by 12 my water was broke...still on schedule! At about 1:30 they were wondering if maybe she was turned funny becuase her head wasn't coming down like it needed to. The Dr. and the OB nurse did some things to try and change things to see if it helped and it did! At about 2:30 the babies heart rate was dropping and so they put me on oxygen. The nurse checked me at 2:50 and said I was an 8 then the Dr. walked in and checked to make sure and was like...ok are you ready? I didn't quite know what to say...I thought I was only an 8. They got everything ready and we waited a few minutes for my aunt to get back to the hospital. Then we were all ready. Things are so much calmer when you have an epidural that works! I pushed through 2 contractions and our little angel was born at 3:09! (not at 2 like planned) It was so easy and peaceful! I just kept thinking...That's it? She was screaming and healthy! It was such a neat experience! I have such a wonderful Dr. and all the nurses and anathesiologist at the hospital were great! Although I am so happy to be back in my own bed now. It took us a day to decide on her name, but for some reason that was the hardest part of the whole thing! We feel so blessed and are so thankful for all of our children! What a GIFT they are!

BOYS!!!

At the beginning of December Fisher falls off a chair in the kitchen and bites a HUGE hole in his tongue. Rob was home with the boys while I was at a Dr.'s appointment when that happened. There wasn't anything that anyone could do about it so he just had to have a hole in his tongue for a few days until it healed. It ended up being a blessing because he couldn't drink out of a bottle because it hurt so bad...so we got rid of it...YEAH!!! Then last week Fisher is riding his bike over at the church (across the street) and fell off and scrapes up the right side of his face. He likes to tell people he did a "back flip at the church"...so we get that almost all healed up and then.................He goes outside with Heston and Heston's friend today. It had just started snowing and so the sidewalk was slick. Heston comes inside screaming for me. I knew that something was seriously wrong. I look up the stairs and there is blood running down the left side of Fisher's face...from his eye. AHHHH!!!! I grab him and just hold him. I couldn't really tell how bad it was. I figured it was bad though. Heston said that he slipped on the sidewalk and cut his eye on a piece of metal. The metal was this little piece of something (who knows what) and what are the odds that when he fell he would cut his eye on it. POOR KID! I called Rob and told him to "COME HOME NOW"! I knew that Rob would be better than me at deciding what to do. Anyway...we ended up at the clinic holding the poor kid down while he got stitched up! The whole time he just kept screaming..."Daddy stop it!" I felt so bad. And I felt bad for Rob because he was the one doing most of the holding. It has been an eventful day. I may have to start wrapping that kid in bubble wrap. It is amazing that boys survive their childhood!

Christmas 2009

We had such a great Christmas! On the 20th we headed to Herriman where we had the Jenson Family party! It was a lot of fun and thanks to Steve and Emily for putting the party together this year! My dad and his girlfriend came to Richfield for Christmas. It was nice to have them here to spend the holiday. We spent Christmas Eve at my sisters house and had a yummy dinner and opened gifts...Santa even came! Christmas Day was nice and lazy we spent the morning at home, went to Rob's parents house for a little bit in the afternoon and then spent Christmas night at my Aunt and Uncles! The kids were so much fun to watch!
